The Manitowoc Lutheran football team looks to extend a pair of streaks tonight as they host the Oostburg Flying Dutchmen on Homecoming at Coach Heiderich Field at Lancer Circle.
The Lancers have won 14 straight conference games and 22 of 24 overall, dating back to September 27th of 2024.
The 2026 edition has excelled in all phases of the game, especially on defense as they have not allowed a point through 20 quarters of football this season.
The Brillion Lions scored the only points (7) against them and that was on a defensive score back in week 2, a 21 to 7 Lancers victory.
The Flying Dutchmen come to town sitting in a four-way tie for second in The Big East (Oostburg-Reedsville-Cedar Grove-Hilbert) at 2-1 and 3 and 2.
They love to run the football, led by senior Jakari DeBlaey, who’s rushed for 500 yards and 9 touchdowns.
Senior Landon Fisher has 331 yards on only 37 attempts and junior Kale Brill has run for 143 yards on 29 carries.
Their defense is symbiotic with their nickname, as they play a physical brand of football with athletes all over the field who fly to the football and tackle well.
DeBlaey (Jakari) has 57 total tackles, 35 which are solo and four tackles for loss which all lead the team plus ten others who have recorded double-digit tackles.
The Lancers received great news on the injury front where junior quarterback Aiden Krause has been cleared to play after missing the first five weeks with a thumb injury suffered during the team’s scrimmage back in August.
Head Coach Ryan Hulse tells seehafernews.com that Krause practiced all week with no restrictions and will start tonight.
This moves Isiah Hochmuth to wide receiver his natural position that Hulse feels will open their deep passing game to go along with a physical running game led by senior Josiah Martin who’s scored a team-leading seven touchdowns.
The kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. Other Big East conference games tonight include Mishicot at Howards Grove; Reedsville hosts Hilbert and Cedar Grove-Belgium is home or Random Lake/ Ozaukee.
In the EWC, Roncalli heads to Kiel, Two Rivers travels to Brillion, Valders visits Chilton and New Holstein is in Fox Crossing to battle St. Mary Catholic. Coverage of Roncalli and Kiel airs on “WOMT 100” and womtradio.com begins at 6:45 p.m.
In the FRCC, Sheboygan North hosts Menasha, Sheboygan South is home for Green Bay East, Notre Dame Academy of Green Bay hosts Oshkosh North, Green Bay Preble is at De Pere, West De Pere hosts Pulaski, Ashwaubenon travels to Green Bay Southwest, and Appleton West is home for the Bayport Pirates.
The marquee matchup of the evening is in Freedom as The Irish, ranked first in Division Four, host Northeast Conference foe Little Chute, who’s ranked second in D-4.
Elsewhere in the Northeast, Wrightstown hosts Sheboygan Falls, Denmark entertains Kohler/ Sheboygan Lutheran/ Christian, and Seymour heads to Luxemburg-Casco to battle the Spartans.
In the Packerland Conference, Kewaunee heads to Southern Door and Sturgeon Bay hosts Oconto Falls. The eight-man slate has Algoma playing at Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah, Sevastopol is home for Oneida Nation, Green Bay NEW Lutheran/Providence Academy hosts Gibraltar, and a pair of unbeatens meet in Suring as the Eagles welcome Valley Christian of Oshkosh.
