The Sheboygan County Food Bank is looking for help to keep its shelves stocked during the upcoming holiday season.
The Food Bank has invited local businesses, schools, churches, clubs, organizations, and neighborhoods to host a holiday food drive in support of their neighbors who are battling hunger.
Last holiday season, community organizations held over 140 food drives, which were responsible for nearly 50,000 pounds of food donations for the Food Bank and its pantry partners.
On the impact of these holiday food drives, Food Bank Executive Director Patrick Boyle said, “The support we receive through holiday food drives is incredible, and we’re grateful…Whether a drive fills a donation box or several pallets, it all adds up to help keep food available for our neighbors throughout Sheboygan County.”
At this time, the Food Bank is requesting groups to focus on collecting proteins like canned chicken and tuna, canned fruit, breakfast items like oatmeal and cereal, and personal care items.
