A Medford man charged in a child grooming case in Two Rivers has been convicted.
33-year-old Nathan Brase had his sentence withheld during a plea and sentencing hearing in Manitowoc County court Tuesday.
During the hearing, Brase was found guilty due to no-contest pleas on charges including grooming a child for sexual activity and soliciting an intimate representation from a minor.
Charges of exposing genitals to a child, exposing a child to harmful descriptions, and intimidating a victim were dismissed but read into the record.
Judge Anthony Lambrecht sentenced the 33-year-old to four years of probation, with conditions including ninety days in the Manitowoc County Jail under the Huber Law, no contact with the victim or family, undergoing a psychosexual evaluation, and complying with sex offender registry requirements.
Two Rivers Police began an Internet Crimes Against Children investigation after getting information that Brase was in communication with a child.
Detectives uncovered evidence indicating that Brase had been grooming the child for sexual activity, sexually extorting the victim, making threats, and soliciting intimate images from the minor.
The suspect was arrested at his home by law enforcement in Medford before being brought to Manitowoc County to face charges.
