The Capitol Civic Centre is remembering a local figure with a special tradition.
In remembering the late Tom Drill, the theater will be dimming its marquee digital screen for 15 minutes at 5:30 p.m. now through Friday.
In the world of theater, dimming the marquee, or exterior lights, for a minute before a performance is a traditional tribute honoring the passing of an influential figure who left a mark on the stage and community.
The CCC adds that Drill was not only a volunteer, but the heart of what a volunteer does.
Tom not only greeted patrons, he also guided tours and shared his marketing ideas, making anyone’s visit special.
CCC staff finished by saying they are “deeply grateful for the passion and energy he poured into the theater over the years. His legacy will always live on.”
Drill passed away last week in Florida and was also known for volunteering and dedicating his time to multiple groups, most notably the Salvation Army of Manitowoc County.
