The Manitowoc City Clerk’s Office is reminding residents to register to vote.
City Clerk Mackenzie Reed says the reminder is for residents who have moved to a new address, changed their name, or have not previously registered to vote, and asks them to stop by City Hall at 900 Quay Street.
State law requires voters to provide proof of residence.
To register to vote, you must be a U.S. citizen, be at least 18 years old, and live in an election district for at least 28 days.
Voters can register at the City Clerk’s Office until Friday, October 30th at 5:00 p.m.
Reed adds that In-person absentee voting will also begin on Tuesday, October 22nd and run through Saturday, October 31st.
Hours will vary, with October 20th-22nd and October 26th-October 30th being open from 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
On Fridays, City Hall is only open until 11:30 a.m.
