The Oshkosh Police Department was involved in a standoff with an armed man late last week.
Oshkosh Police were dispatched to the 1800 block of North Main Street just after 10:15 Friday morning on a report of a disturbance with a weapon.
The victim reported that a 45-year-old Oshkosh man had threatened to kill him and pointed a firearm at him.
The victim was able to escape, but there were still three juveniles inside, whom the suspect had also threatened.
The Oshkosh Police Department’s SWAT Team, Crisis Negotiations Team, and Drone Team all responded to the residence, as did the Wisconsin State Patrol and Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office.
Negotiators were eventually able to convince the suspect to exit the residence, and the standoff ended peacefully. A search of the home uncovered four firearms and ammunition.
The yet-unnamed suspect was arrested on charges of 2nd Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety, Disorderly Conduct, and Strangulation.
