Manitowoc Lincoln and Sheboygan South have taken their licks in the first half of the 2026 high school football season.
They arguably play in the toughest Division One conference in the state, the FRCC, with Bay Port, West De Pere, and De Pere ranked third, fourth, and ninth, respectively, in Division One, and Notre Dame Academy of Green Bay rolling over each of their first four opponents to stay firmly entrenched atop the Division Two rankings.
Both the Shipbuilders and Redwings are looking at tonight’s game as a chance to reset with a victory and make a strong push to achieve success in the second half of the season.
Manitowoc Lincoln has struggled with injuries, with running back Jaquon Foth, who ran for over 1,000 yards a year ago, and their leading tackle Elias Reed also missing time.
However, the Ships showed some improvement offensively last week against Menasha, another upper-tier team in the FRCC.
Sheboygan South hasn’t fared much better offensively, scoring just 33 points in their first four games. Defensively, the Redwings have multiple players who have the athletic ability to make plays, and they tackle well.
Senior Jack Polzin has a whopping 42 tackles through four games, 22 of which are solo. Senior lineman Carter Culp can dominate, having racked up 38 tackles, including 17 solo.
23 of junior’s Jerimiah Appleton‘s 32 tackles are solo, which lead the team, while sophomore Saul Lederman (22 tackles) and junior Darian King (20 tackles) have contributed as well.

The marquee matchup in the FRCC tonight is at Bay Port where the third ranked Pirates host ninth-ranked De Pere.
Other FRCC games tonight have Notre Dame Academy of Green Bay visiting Green Bay East, Green Bay West travels to Lawrence University to battle Menasha, Green Bay Preble hosts Green Bay Southwest, Sheboygan North is at Oshkosh North, Appleton West entertains West De Pere, and Pulaski heads to Ashwaubenon to battle the Jaguars.
In eight-man football, Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah heads to Oshkosh to take on fourth-ranked Valley Christian.
