The closure at the Humane Society of Sheboygan County has been extended.
The Humane Society has announced that the closure of its shelter will now run through Sunday (September 20th) as staff deal with an outbreak of feline panleukopenia.
Originally scheduled to be lifted today (September 17th), the closure is considered precautionary, the shelter noting, “Out of an abundance of caution and following veterinary recommendations, this additional time will allow our team to continue closely monitoring the animals in our care, maintaining intensive cleaning and disease-prevention protocols, and making sure our cats and the staff caring for them have the support they need.”
As of now, the shelter is looking to completely reopen to the public on September 23rd, and anyone with a scheduled upcoming appointment at the Humane Society will be contacted directly by shelter staff to make changes.
