Absentee ballots will start getting mailed out today for the upcoming election.
While many people still go to the polls in person on the day of the election, there have been more and more people voting absentee, whether by mail or in person in the weeks leading up to the big day.
Mail-in absentee ballots can be requested at myvote.wi.gov for the November 3rd election, which will feature some major races affecting our area.
On top of the statewide races, including the one for governor, there are five candidates running to represent the 6th Congressional District in Washington.
They are Republican incumbent Glenn Grothman, Democratic challenger Brad Smith, Wisconsin Green Party Member Matthew Arndt, and Independents Elizabeth Anne Fitzgibbon and Mike Thurow.
There are also two State Senate races on Manitowoc County ballots, including Nic Cravillion and Mark Becker in District 1 and Amy Binsfeld and Christian Ellis in District 9.
Shae Sortwell is being challenged for his 2nd Assembly District seat by Alicia Saunders, while Ron Tusler is defending his District 3 seat against Michael J. Goodwin, and Paul Tittl is being challenged by Christopher Able in District 25.
Lindee Brill is running unopposed in District 27.
There are three state referendum questions and just one local one, where the Brillion Public School District is asking to spend an additional $1 million per year through the 2030-2031 school year.
