Charges are being filed against a former nurse at the Tomah Veterans Affairs Memorial Center.
53-year-old Beth Holtz is accused of intentionally depriving a dying hospice patient of oxygen.
The incident happened in August of last year, with Holtz reportedly telling a fellow staffer that she hoped the patient would die before the end of her shift because reporting his passing would be easier than writing up a fall that he had experienced earlier.
Holtz was taken into custody yesterday on a charge of intentionally abusing a patient, causing great bodily harm.
