A bizarre and hilarious personal experience has helped a Manitowoc woman enter the world of publishing.
Wendy Kurth is the author of “The Great Rice Incident”, which tells her true story of “foot surgery, poor navigation, and one robot’s refusal to do its job.”
She tells SeehaferNews.com that the story all started with a rather insignificant seeming food item.
“It started with 6 to 8 grains of rice and there were just what seem like reasonable decisions at the time, one right after the other,” Wendy recalled. “These events just kind of continued to escalate. And then it became a ridiculously large event.”
Wendy never saw herself as a writer, but, as she explains, some things just need to be shared with the masses.
“As I was verbally telling it to some family members and friends, it just seemed like it might be easier to put it down in writing,” she noted. “I was laughing so hard. I was crying as the event was unfolding.”
Wendy self-published the book using Kindle Direct Publishing, which she said was incredibly useful.
“They have a pretty extensive helpful webpage, a collection of articles to help self publishers,” she explained.
The Great Rice Incident is now available as an e-book on all Kindle devices and at Amazon.com.
