A former Manitowoc County Board Supervisor has passed away.
Robert “Bob” Cavanaugh of Reedsville was 78 when he died on September 4th due to a brief illness.
Cavanaugh graduated from Reedsville High School before earning a degree from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville in 1969.
He would go on to teach Agricultural Education in Shiocton and Valders while continuing to work as a dairy farmer for 30 years.
After he retired from farming, Cavanaugh drove a school bus for the Reedsville School District and served on Reedsville’s Board of Education for five years.
As a county supervisor, Bob served from 2012 to 2022 representing District 16, which includes a portion of the Village of Reedsville along with the Towns of Maple Grove and Franklin.
County Executive Tyler Martell says Cavanaugh was also passionate about his service on the Manitowoc County Expo-Ice Center Board and educating and supporting youth.
To honor his service, flags on Manitowoc County government buildings will be lowered to half-staff on the day of his funeral, which takes place tomorrow (September 12th) at Holy Family Catholic Church in Brillion at 11:00 a.m.
