A Manitowoc man has been sentenced in his federal child pornography case.
21-year-old Brandon M. Lemerond was ordered to spend 15 years in prison after being found guilty of Receiving Obscene Visual Depictions of Child Pornography.
This is just the most recent incident involving Lemerond, who was previously convicted on two counts of Possession of Child Pornography by Person Under Age of 18 in 2023, for which he was ordered to spend a year and a half in prison.
He was released on March 13th of this year, a fact that played a part in the lengthy prison sentence in this latest case.
It was discovered that Lemerond had been engaging with underage individuals online and soliciting child sexual abuse material.
First Assistant U.S. Attorney Brad Schimel said of the case, “He clearly cannot or will not control his abhorrent behavior. The only way to protect our children from this predator is to lock him up for a very long time.”
Manitowoc Police Chief John Musial agreed, saying the 15-year sentence will “help protect our community from further harm.”
He also had 18 local charges dismissed in favor of the federal case.
