Milwaukee Public Schools wants to see a utility rate hike proposal denied.
School Board President Missy Zombor spoke at a meeting this week, where she said the 14 percent proposal from We Energies would have a negative impact on the district’s families and the schools.
She argued district families shouldn’t have to choose between dinner and keeping the lights on.
The school board agreed with Zombor and unanimously supported her resolution.
We Energies is waiting for a decision from the Public Service Commission.
