The Valders High School girls fastpitch softball team scored ‘7’ runs in the top of the 6th inning to snap a 2-all tie, enroute to a 9-2 road victory over Two Rivers. With the win the Vikings improve to 15-and-2 this Spring. Jenna Evenson earned the win on a complete-game effort, allowing just 3-hits and unearned runs..to go along with 8-strikeouts & 3-walks. Hannah Harteau took the loss for the Raiders. Valders pounded out 13-hit .including a 3-for-3 performance, 3 RBI’s & 2-runs scored by Kendra Hammel (hummel) and 2-hits apiece by Ashlie Duveneck & Evenson. Ariana Zimney and Alissa Taylor both went 1-for-3 with a run scored for Two Rivers.
In the Big East Conference Manitowoc Lutheran scored at least 1-run in every inning during a 15-to-5 conquest of Cedar Grove-Belgium in ‘6’ innings. Megan Schetter was the starting &Winning pitcher going ‘5’. Lexi LeClair worked the final ‘frame’. Allison Menges paced the Lancers offense going 3-for-4 with 2-RBI’s and 4-runs scored. Kassia Rosera was 3-for-3 with a run-batted-in. The Lancers travel to Valders this afternoon.
In F-R-C-C Boys Baseball, .visiting Ashwaubenon defeated the Manitowoc Lincoln Ships 4-to-2. In non-conference baseball Valders topped Hilbert-Stockbridg .4-2. Mike Leist picked up the win in relief as the Vikings broke a scoreless tie with ‘4’ runs in the bottom of the 6th. Casey Zipperer was 2-for-3 with a run scored…and Fletcher Dallas knocked in 2-runs by going 1-for-3.
And in Boys Tennis: Roncalli was a 7-oh winner at Ripon. The Jets go to 7-&-1 in Conference, 15-and-3 overall.
