The Manitowoc County Drug Court was honored with the 2018 Democracy in Action Award during the League of Women Voters of Manitowoc County annual meeting on Tuesday. After nearly a decade of planning, the court is in its first year of action. Several of the participants in the court were on hand at the Holiday Inn to accept the award. A few of the members of the Drug Court include judges Mark Rohrer and Bob Dewane, as well as District Attorney Jacalyn Labre and Public Defender Ann Larson. Catherine Cole, League member and Voter Services chairman, was also honored for her work over many years with educating and assisting the public with registering to vote.
