There are a pair of meetings scheduled for today (September 3rd) in the City of Manitowoc.
The Public Works Committee will be in the Council Chambers at 5:30 p.m., where they will review a proposed amendment to the Solid Waste Recycling and Disposal ordinance.
Fire Chief Benjamin Kraynek is asking the City to move the waste oil drop-off location at the Fire Department to the Department of Public Works grounds at the intersection of South 35th and Viebahn Streets since it can be more consistently available to the public.
The Committee will also review the State-Municipal Financial Agreement for a DOT-led resurfacing project in the area of Fleetwood Drive and I-43.
Then, at 6:30 p.m., the Crime Prevention Committee will convene, where they will talk about the “Amazon Recall” text message scam that has been going around.
They will also elect their Chair, Vice-Chair, Secretary, and Treasurer before selecting the Crime Prevention Award recipients.
