A public basketball court was vandalized recently, and leaders in the Village of Harrison are asking parents to talk to their children.
The Village noted that the court was defaced with “obscene markings” that will require the court to be completely resurfaced.
The Harrison Police Department is currently following up on leads based on security camera footage, and additional units will be placed near the court for the time being.
The Village is asking parents and guardians to “speak with their children about respecting public property and the serious consequences of using electronic devices, scooters, bikes, or other items to cause damage.”
Village leaders also noted, “Our parks and recreational facilities belong to the entire community. Please help us protect them so they remain safe, clean, and welcoming for everyone”
