The CEO of Sheboygan County’s largest insurer is being honored by a major publication.
BizTimes has named Acuity CEO Melissa Winter its 2026 Woman Executive of the Year.
Winter joined the Acuity team in 1988 when it was still known as Heritage Mutual Insurance.
Since being hired as a claims representative, she has moved through various leadership roles before being named president in 2023 and finally CEO earlier this year.
Winter told BizTimes that the philosophy at Acuity is “leading with heart,” adding, “When we start with the heart, and we keep people at that center, leading through those changes, leading through those shifts, it’s just a little bit easier.”
