Unemployment in June is up marginally around Eastern Wisconsin.
Manitowoc County’s unemployment was at 3.2% in July this year compared to 2.8% in July last year, according to non-seasonally adjusted numbers from the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development.
The 2026 rate is down slightly from last month when unemployment was around 3.3%.
That is the biggest increase in the area. Sheboygan County’s unemployment rate is also up from 2.8% in July last year.
It was at 3% last month. Calumet County’s slight increase saw unemployment at 2.8% in July 2026 compared to 2.7% in July 2025.
Brown County’s unemployment increased from 3% to 3.1% from July last year to July this year.
Outagamie County was up from 3.1% to 3.2%.
Kewaunee County jumped from 2.5% to 2.7% from last year to this year.
Door County’s unemployment was up from 2.6% in July last year to 2.9% last month.
While eastern Wisconsin counties saw an unemployment increase, the rate decreased in 25 counties and remained the same in 25 other counties in Wisconsin.
