A Manitowoc man is continuing to grow his online presence, despite living with a debilitating disease.
Devin Argall was diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy when he was four years old and has been living with the effects of it his whole life.
“Well, it’s a progressive muscle disease,” he explained. “So, my muscles are breaking down over time, and I can’t rebuild that muscle. So, it affects my life every day. I can’t walk, can’t go upstairs.”
As of today, there is no cure, but Devin does take preventative measures, such as going to the doctor regularly and taking medication.
He understands the struggles that other people with physical disabilities are going through, and he says that the best thing to do is remain optimistic and “Focus on the things you have in life and rather not what you don’t have in life.”
Devin has taken that optimistic attitude to the internet, and he is becoming more and more popular.
On TikTok, his page known as Snack Check with Devin has amassed an impressive 178,000 followers, and his Facebook page called Devin Strong is on the rise with 3,600 followers.
Devin uses these platforms to share fundraising efforts for others with Muscular Dystrophy as well as pictures, videos, and commentary on his experiences.
Currently, Devin is trying to raise enough money to purchase a ceiling track lift, which he said will help him get in and out of the shower.
A GoFundMe page has been created to help him reach his $20,000 goal.
