Vehicles in the City of Sheboygan’s municipal fleet have new names.
Earlier this week, the City’s Public Works Committee met, with one item on its agenda being the unveiling of the winners of the Department of Public Works’ second annual Name That Truck contest.
Contest organizers chose to select one name each for a garbage truck, a dump truck, and a snowplow.
The winning entries included the Trashinator for a garbage truck, Load Warrior for the dump truck, and Blizzard Wizard for a snowplow.
During the meeting this week, Sheboygan’s Public Works Director Travis Peterson revealed that the DPW received 52 submissions from the community for the contest, which was created last year for “residents to participate in an engaging and creative opportunity to name the City’s fleet of trucks.”
Following the announcement of the winning entries, winning entrants will be notified and will have the chance to have their photos taken with the truck receiving the winning name.
