A diner that has fed Manitowoc for over 40 years is now owned by a couple of people who know a thing or two about running a restaurant.
Salvador and Sue Velasques opened the Golden Flame Restaurant on Calumet Avenue in May of 1984. 42 years and three months later, the restaurant is now owned by the owners of Fork and Knife Restaurant, brothers Nick and Mitch Fejza.
The sale officially went through yesterday (August 24th), and with it, a change in the name of the eatery affectionately known by many as simply “The Flame.”
It will now be known as Golden Fork Restaurant.
The sale was facilitated by August Richter of August Richter Real Estate Group – Keller Williams Manitowoc, who represented the buyers and sellers.
Both parties expressed immense gratitude for the community’s support over the decades and are excited for this next chapter.
