A Sheboygan man is facing charges after fleeing from police and causing a crash.
The Sheboygan Police Department attempted to pull a vehicle over near South 8th Street and Indiana Avenue just before 5:40 Sunday evening for “excessive engine noise and other driving behaviors,” but the driver sped off.
A pursuit ensued, but due to the erratic and dangerous driving of the suspect, police called off the chase.
Shortly thereafter, the vehicle ran through a red light at the intersection of North 14th Street and Superior Avenue, where it struck another vehicle traveling east on Superior.
The 19-year-old male driver was arrested at the scene after being evaluated at a local hospital.
The 73-year-old male driver of the victim vehicle was also taken to a local hospital with minor injuries.
There were no other passengers in either vehicle.
The 19-year-old Sheboygan man was arrested on multiple charges, but it was not explicitly stated which ones.
