Lakeland University has shared additional details regarding a recent veteran-focused grant it has received.
As previously reported, Lakeland has received a $54,000 grant from the Wisconsin Department of Veterans Affairs (WDVA) to assist veterans in entrepreneurial endeavors.
The university has since shared that this Veteran Entrepreneurship Grant funding will pay for additional programming at the LU Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (LUCIE).
Specifically, this new programming will include product and idea pitch competitions, networking events, workshops, mentorship, conferences, coworking memberships, studio memberships, and more.
On how the funding will be utilized, Stephanie Hoskins, Lakeland’s Herbert Kohler & Frank Jacobson Chair in Business and Entrepreneurship, stated, “Veterans bring so many of the skills that make great entrepreneurs, and they have a strong history of starting businesses. We’re excited to help them turn their ideas into opportunities and connect them with the resources and people who can help them succeed.”
