Authorities are investigating the death of a man who was in custody at the Milwaukee County Jail.
Officials say the 45-year-old died Tuesday after being transported from the West Allis Police Department to the county jail, having complained about vomiting and stomach pain.
Investigators say nurses advised he be taken to a hospital to be evaluated, but he stopped breathing as he was being prepared to leave and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The man was in the process of being booked on drunk driving charges.
