The City of Sheboygan is looking to educate residents and staff on the impacts of data centers.
The City will be hosting an educational speaker series focused on data centers each Wednesday in September from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Uptown Social.
The first of these events will take place on September 9th featuring Becky Valcq, the President of Wisconsin Energy Company and VP of Energy Delivery at Alliant Energy.
This educational series was created at the request of the Sheboygan Common Council to “establish a foundational understanding of the industry and identify critical considerations for the community and Council as it crafts future zoning regulations.”
With the announcement of these events, the City also explicitly informed residents that there is no data center project being proposed in Sheboygan at this time.
