Emergency crews from Sheboygan, Manitowoc, and Calumet Counties helped put out a shed fire yesterday afternoon.
The Elkhart Lake and Glenbeulah Fire Departments were dispatched to N9642 Rhine Road in the Town of Rhine just before 1:00 p.m.
Once on scene, firefighters found the shed on fire with extension into a grassy area.
Once the shed fire was extinguished, a MABAS alarm was requested due to the heat, humidity, and rural location of the fire, sending firefighters from Kiel, New Holstein, Plymouth, Ada, and Howards Grove to the scene to assist.
Once they were all on scene, UTVs were used to extinguish the brush fire.
Overhaul was done on both fires, and crews then cleared the scene.
Elkhart Lake Fire Chief Rob Schmidt also thanked Elkhart Lake Police, the Sheboygan County Sheriff’s Department, and the Sheboygan County Fire Investigation Unit for their assistance.
