The public is invited to enjoy a weekend abroad without even leaving Sheboygan next month.
The Sheboygan Mayor’s International Committee (MIC) will be holding a two-day fundraiser at Christopher Farm and Gardens on September 19th and 20th, offering attendees the opportunity to immerse themselves in Japanese and German cultures.
This event aims to highlight and educate Sheboyganites on the cultures and practices of those in Tsubame, Japan, and Esslingen, Germany, Sheboygan’s sister cities, all while raising money to promote cross-cultural partnership exchanges between all three cities.
Day one will feature Japanese kendo martial arts demonstrations, a ramen bar, matcha tasting, and much more.
Meanwhile, day two will serve as this year’s Esslingenfest in Sheboygan, highlighting German culture with music performances, a stein-holding contest, beer tasting, and a Christmas card-making station, which will be sent to residents of Esslingen.
