A local financial institution is hoping to help residents keep their identities safe.
Bank First will be hosting a free shredding event at their location in Two Rivers at 1703 Lake Street on August 22nd from 9:00 a.m. to noon.
While the event is free and open to the public, Bank First does ask all who participate to bring with them a non-perishable food item in exchange for a bag of personal documents to be shredded.
Donations collected during the event will then be donated to local food pantries.
On why shredding events are important, Bank First noted, “With the risk of identity theft and fraud becoming more prevalent today, Bank First is proud to offer community residents a way to properly dispose of personal documents while also giving back to local food pantries.”
Confidential Records, an AAA-certified shredding company, will be on hand to properly destroy all documents attendees bring in.
Bank First asked area businesses not to participate to ensure enough shredding space is available for the public.
