Roncalli Junior Carson Kaderabek experienced a once-in-a-lifetime moment last Friday night at Lambeau Field in Green Bay.
In front of 60,000 plus fans on Family Night, Carson, wearing his #4 Columbia blue Jets jersey and Packer helmet, fielded five consecutive punts cleanly, tying the event record.
What was more impressive is that he caught all five in succession, meaning he had to hold on to each one he caught and could not release or drop any of the balls or the catch wouldn’t count.
Speaking with SeehaferNews.com, Carson says his approach was quite simple.
“Just staying calm and keeping my eye on the ball the entire time so I didn’t loose it. It was the after third one that I heard the crowd go crazy and caught myself looking at the jumbotron,” he recalled. “The players were saying my name and were hugging me up. It was a really cool moment.”
Packer players to hug Carson up included safety Evan Williams and wide receiver Jayden Reed.
Kaderabek adds it was great to be out there representing Roncalli High School.
“It was a privilege to be out there and represent Roncalli High School and show what both I and the school can do and are capable of,” he explained. “(My dad) said he was really proud of me and to never take these moments for granted.”
Carson’s dad is Nathan Kaderaback, Roncalli Catholic Schools’ Athletic Director.
Carson and the Jets participate in a five-school scrimmage Thursday (August 13th) night at Titan Stadium in Oshkosh and open the season next Friday night (August 21st) at Rubick Field, hosting the Manitowoc Lutheran Lancers.
