The Village of Wrightstown will be the next community to determine if they want AI data centers.
On the ballot in the Village today will be a referendum, which will determine if Wrightstown should “authorize, support, participate in, or facilitate municipal utility infrastructure, public utility service commitments…. or related municipal infrastructure improvements associated with a large-scale data center development within or affecting the Village.”
The topic has been up for debate in communities across the state, with Manitowoc County striking first.
In February, the County put a pause on the construction of any AI center for an 18-month span.
The Village of Mishicot took similar action, and other communities are following suit.
