He’s six-foot-six inches tall, weighs 336 pounds, and physically gifted with quick feet and hands with above average strength.
Anthony Belton is a second-year offensive lineman who plays for the Green Bay Packers.
The Packers chose Belton in the second round of the 2025 NFL Draft (54th overall) out of North Carolina State.
They (The Packers) were impressed with his collegiate resume that included two years at Georgia Military College (2019-20) but especially what he was able to do in his four years with the Wolfpack (2021-24).
After appearing in just two games in 2021, Belton started 38 games from 2022-2024, earning third-team All-ACC honors in 2023.
His game so impressed Packer scouts, and after a solid performance in the 2025 Senior Bowl, Green Bay was happy that he was available yet in round two of the ‘25 draft and chose him 54th overall.
Packer Nation was a bit shocked they chose him early on, but as they saw him play on Sundays, everyone started taking notice.
Belton got his chance to prove his worth early in his rookie campaign.
A combination of his abilities and team need due to injuries led to him playing 14 games in his rookie year, starting seven primarily at tackle.
But in 2026 he’s been penciled in as the starter at right guard in a revamped offensive line that’s looking not only to stay healthy but develop into a unit that can put fear into the opposition every week.
Seehafernews.com spoke with Belton recently at training camp, and he told us his thoughts on learning a new position on the “O” line.
“I’m feeling a whole lot better, trying to be consistent on every snap,” Belton noted. “At guard, I need to set my feet quicker and tighter, sort of being in a phone booth so I can keep defensive linemen at bay inside my body frame.”
Other changes up front include Sean Rhyan named the permanent starting center after performing well the second half of last year when Elgton Jenkins, now with the Cleveland Browns, went down with a season-ending injury.
Jordan Morgan, a former number one pick, is firmly secured at left tackle.
Zach Bako-Belewe (formerly Zach Tom) is the right tackle, and with Aaron Banks starting the season on the PUP (physically unable to perform) list, rookie Jager Burton, a fifth-round pick out of Kentucky, has had a very good camp and could step into that spot.
Belton adds that he’s fired up to play with what he feels is one of the most talented groups in the NFL and will pick the brain of the Packers starting center (Rhyan) to take his game to another level.
“He’s played both guard and center so getting to learn from someone who’s been there and done that is vital for my growth as a player. I feel we (the offensive line) are building something special here with consistency and staying healthy being the keys to sustained success,” Belton remarked.
The Packers are taking the weekend off and resume practice Monday (tomorrow) morning at 10:30 on Ray Nitschke Field, which will be open to the public.
Green Bay opens the preseason Thursday night in Pittsburgh against Aaron Rodgers, Mike McCarthy and the Pittsburgh Steelers.
