A Manitowoc woman has been convicted in relation to a fatal overdose last year.
40-year-old Halli Bubolz was present for a plea hearing yesterday (August 4th) where she was found guilty of First-Degree Reckless Homicide due to a no-contest plea.
Charges of Manufacturing or Delivering Fentanyl, Maintaining a Drug Trafficking Place, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia were dismissed but read into the record.
In October of last year, the Manitowoc Police Department was called to the 1100 block of South 14th Street where they located a male victim deceased, with the cause of death ruled as an overdose from a combination of methamphetamine and fentanyl.
During the investigation that followed, authorities located Discord messages showing Bubolz and the victim chatting about getting and using fentanyl.
Later, she would admit to police that she gave the victim the fentanyl that ultimately led to their death.
Following her conviction, she will return to court on November 4th to be sentenced.
