The search for two missing kayakers in Door County has come to a tragic end.
The bodies of 20-year-old David Thalman of Dundee, Illinois, and 20-year-old Francesca Warick of Elgin, Illinois, were recovered from the water.
The duo was located just before 11:00 yesterday morning (August 3rd) after over a day and a half of searching.
Thalman and Warick had reportedly gone out on the water without a life jacket and failed to return to shore.
The Door County Sheriff’s Office and Washington Island Police Department extended their “deepest condolences to the families and loved ones of both individuals during this difficult time.”
Numerous agencies from around the area assisted in the search, along with the U.S. Coast Guard.
