The Sheboygan Police Department is asking parents to speak with their children after an incident at Evergreen Park.
Officers were called Sunday afternoon to the park on a report of potential kidnapping in progress.
A juvenile was said to be screaming that they were being kidnapped as they were leaving the area in a vehicle.
It was quickly determined that there was no kidnapping, but rather teens and children goofing around.
The Sheboygan Police Department said of the incident, “While we are all thankful that this was not a real kidnapping, we are asking that parents talk with their children about the dangerous consequences of this type of behavior – even if unintentional. We are also thankful to those who called to report witnessing this, allowing our officers to quickly deploy to the area to address this.”
