Another annual Two Rivers event is just a few days away.
Rogers Street Fishing Village is putting on Roger Street Days on August 7th and 8th.
Bonnie Timm says that this event is sure to be loads of fun, with live entertainment, food, and beverages available for the whole weekend.
“It’s just so much fun,” she said during an appearance on the WCUB Breakfast Club. “People come with their families every year. Tthey plan their family reunions around Roger Street Days because they’ve been coming for so many years. It’s a way to keep our history alive for the city of Two Rivers. It’s just been a wonderful celebration.”
This event will kick off on August 7th from 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm, and Big Mouth and the Power Tool Horns will be providing live music for the night.
Then, the August 8th festivities will start at 12:00 pm and will run until 10:00 pm.
The live entertainment for the 8th will start with The Cheese Doodles from 12:00 pm to 2:30 pm, then Logan Spicer from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm, and finally Conscious Pilot from 6:30 pm to 10:00 pm.
Bonnie also gives a shout out to their sponsors, who make events like this possible.
“We have some wonderful community sponsors that have been there every year for us,” she noted. “As you know, these events don’t happen without money.”
This weekend will also include free museum tours from 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm, ice cream from the Historical Society, and bucket raffles.
All money raised will go towards the Roger Street Fishing Village and Great Lakes Coast Guard Museum, which is run completely by volunteers.
“We are always looking for volunteers,” Timm explained. “We’re happy to have new volunteers join us. We have our core crew that comes back every year and looks forward to it, but we are always looking for new volunteers.”
