The body of an Illinois man was recovered from a Kewaunee County lake yesterday evening (July 30th).
The Kewaunee County Sheriff’s Office and other emergency crews were called to Krohn’s Lake County Park in the Town of Pierce just after 4:30 p.m. after a man had reportedly entered the water and did not resurface.
A search ensued for the 21-year-old man from Melrose Park, Illinois, but the heavy silt on the lake floor made for very difficult search conditions.
Additional dive teams from Door County and underwater drone units from Brown County were called in to assist, and they did eventually locate his body.
He was then recovered from the lake.
Sheriff Matt Joski tells SeehaferNews.com, “The identity of the victim is not being released at this time pending notification of family.”
