Green Bay Packers training camp kicked off yesterday, and for some of the players, it was their first experience with the Lambeau faithful.
Aside from the sheer number of people who show up to watch a practice, the thing that separates Packer training camp from anything else is the American Family Insurance DreamDrive bike ride from Lambeau Field to Ray Nitchke Field.
For some of the players, Wednesday was their first experience with that tradition.
Journeyman QB Tyrod Taylor, who has been in the league since 2011, told SeehaferNews.com that he has always been on the outside looking in on that tradition, but he thought it was amazing.
“(It’s a) wonderful tradition to be a part of today,” he said. “The fans showed up in a great way, as I’m sure they will throughout training camp. But throughout the season there was a great day.”
Taylor has spent time in seven organizations prior to landing in Green Bay, and he says he is excited to share with the quarterback room his “Wisdom, a dynamic style of quarterback play leadership and whatever else they need to do to be able to be ready physically to go out and play or to be there supporting J-Love and the rest of the team.”
Another player getting his first taste of the Packer fandom was rookie Brandon Cisse.
The cornerback is playing on a team not based in South Carolina for the first time in his career, and he loved what the fans brought to day one of training camp.
“That’s different for sure,” he said with a smile. “Hundreds of kids who just love to be a part of this great organization. If I was a kid, I wouldn’t like it any other way. So I’m just excited I’m here.”
He also reminisced about hearing his name called with the 52nd overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft.
“High emotions. Just super excited to join a great organization,” he recalled. “Words can’t really describe that moment. I kind of look back on it, and I still get a little teary-eyed, but I’m just excited.”
Day two of training camp will once again be open to the public, with the players taking to Ray Nitchke Field at 10:30 a.m.
