Week one of the high school football season is less than a month away, and one area team is looking to help out their first opponent.
The Plymouth Panthers are set to open their season at Menasha, but if that game were to happen today, a large section of the stands would be empty.
Not because no one wants to go, but rather because the bleachers were destroyed by Monday’s tornado.
The Panthers are looking to help the Blue Jays and the entire Menasha community by collecting disaster relief items.
The team will be in the Plymouth High School parking lot from 3:00 to 6:00 this afternoon, where they will accept donations of bottled water, toiletries, and non-perishable food items.
This is just one of many support efforts planned throughout the area as Eastern Wisconsin tries to help the Menasha and Appleton areas recover from the devastating tornadoes.
