A traffic stop in Fond du Lac County has led to federal charges.
The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office reports that on May 29th, K9 Handler Deputy Birkholz and K9 Rip conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on Interstate 41 for a traffic violation.
During the stop, a probable cause search was conducted, which uncovered 7.2 grams of cocaine, over 1.6 pounds of methamphetamine, 53 grams of MDMA, and $940 in cash.
The suspect, a 46-year-old Milwaukee man, was on active parole for Manufacture/Deliver Heroin and was arrested.
The 46-year-old has a lengthy criminal history with previous offenses including 1st Degree Sexual Assault, Burglary, and numerous other drug-related charges.
Following his arrest, a federal case was opened, which ultimately led to the United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Wisconsin indicting the Milwaukee man.
On the case, the Sheriff’s Office noted, “The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office and Sheriff’s Office K9 program remains dedicated to pursuing individuals trafficking drugs into and through our community.”
