Issues of competency will be evaluated for a Manitowoc man facing sexual assault and child abuse charges.
Court records show that 37-year-old Randy Kue will return to court today (July 29th) for a competency hearing after Judge Jerilyn Dietz ordered an evaluation earlier this month.
This comes as Kue has been charged with First-Degree Sexual Assault Causing Great Bodily Harm, Second-Degree Sexual Assault with the Use of Force, Third-Degree Sexual Assault, and three counts of Child Abuse Intentionally Causing Harm.
The 37-year-old is accused of physically and sexually assaulting a woman who lived with him repeatedly between 2019 and 2025, resulting in two pregnancies, and further accused of physically assaulting three children as well.
The purpose of today’s hearing will be for the State to make a determination on whether Kue is able to understand the court proceedings and assist his lawyer in his legal defense following his competency exam.
Regardless of the State’s findings, Kue will remain in custody on an unfurnished $100,000 cash bail.
