The BVC girls’ swim team has been working hard this summer, and the athletes are excited to show off their skills this season.
The BVC swim team combines girls from Brillion, Valders, and Chilton to all compete together.
Their coach, Brett Newberg, is excited to see what these girls can do this year.
“I’m hoping for the girls to all PR in something and grow in their events as best as they can,” he noted.
Over the summer, Brett has watched the team captains, Norianna Burton, Isabel Riederer, and Kyleigh Braden, step into their roles and really lead the team.
“They’ve all done a great job,” he told SeehaferNews.com. “They’ve all stepped up to everything I would say. They’ve been making it to contact days, and they’ve done a good job getting things organized for the team, too. They’ve done a fantastic job.”
For summer training, the team has 5 contact days, but the girls know what kind of outside training they need to do to make this season their best.
Many of them participate in club swimming and go to the weight room over the summer, which really shows their dedication to the team.
“A shoutout to all our upperclassmen. They’ve been doing great this year,” Coach Newberg said. “I love that they’ve been showing up to all the stuff. And that I appreciate everything that they’re doing.”
The BVC swim team has their first practice on August 11th, with their first meet at Kohler slated for August 22nd.
