Janet M. Waack, age 89, of Manitowoc passed away peacefully Sunday morning, July 19, 2026 at Complete Care, Manitowoc.
Janet was born August 22, 1936, in Manitowoc, daughter of the late Harvey and Esther (Grosshuesch) Voss. She attended schools in Manitowoc and graduated with the class of 1954 from Lincoln High School. On June 2, 1956, Janet married Lloyd Waack at Salem Ebenezer Reformed Church, Newton. He preceded her in death on August 13, 2010. Janet was a lifelong member of Salem Ebenezer Reformed Church and was a member of the Ladies Aid Society. She was employed with Memorial Hospital and later with Holy Family Memorial Medical Center for over 30 years until her retirement. Janet especially loved time spent with her family. She enjoyed many years following Lloyd’s performances as a musician. She also enjoyed cooking, gardening, decorating, camping, trips to Europe, winters in Arizona and spending summers in Wisconsin Dells. She also enjoyed watching the Packers, Brewers and Bucks.
Survivors include three children and their spouses: Lori (Steve) Ball, Appleton; Keith (Patti) Waack, Two Rivers; and Jennifer (Patrick) Pankratz, Manitowoc; six grandchildren: Stephanie (Zack) Daly, Ponte Vedra, Florida; Ben (Michelle) Waack, Manitowoc; Zackary Waack, Two Rivers; Olivia (Kyle) Lee, Two Rivers; Lindsey Pankratz, Green Bay; Ryan (Patti) Pankratz, Manitowoc; and seven great-grandchildren: Parker, Chandler and Vivian Daly; Bristol Waack; Caden, Jersie and Sophia Pankratz. Janet is also survived by one sister and brother-in-law, Ruth (Russ) Truettner, Appleton; one brother and sister-in-law, Robert (Patricia) Voss, Athelstane, and one brother-in-law, Leonard Brouchoud, Manitowoc, along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Janet was preceded in death by her husband Lloyd; her parents; mother-in-law and father-in-law Ruth and Marvin Brouchoud; one brother Bill Voss; sisters-in-law Lorrie Voss, Mildred Fisher, Marie Sprang, Margaret Brouchoud and Lois Brouchoud; three brothers-in-law Leroy Brouchoud, Bill Fisher and Francis Sprang.
Funeral services will be held at 12 noon, Saturday, August 1, 2026 at Salem Ebenezer Reformed Church, 6524 County Highway C, Manitowoc. Rev. James Grossmann will officiate, with burial to follow at the church cemetery. The family will greet relatives and friends at the church on Saturday from 10 to 11:45 a.m. Memorials in Janet’s name can be made to Salem Ebenezer Reformed Church.
The Lakeshore Family Funeral Homes, Jens Family Funeral Home location, is assisting the Waack family with arrangements.
