
The 17th annual girls fastpitch “War on the Shore” fast pitch softball tournament will be held next Thursday through Sunday *July 30th-August 2nd, at The Manitowoc Youth Baseball Facility in Manitowoc.
Tournament Director Kirk Shillcox says the field features top-quality local and area teams ranging from age 8 to 18 (8U- 10U- 12U- 14U -16U AND 18U) that’ll be divided into three ability groups- Elite, Competitive, and Developmental.
All teams are guaranteed to play 4 games with multiple fields to be utilized, with parking available on- and off-site.
Team and individual awards for first and second place will be given out, and all attendees are encouraged to take advantage of the on-site waterpark and mini golf course along with the many fine hotels, great restaurants, shopping, and many other activities available to enjoy in Manitowoc.

SaberCats Wrap Up Regular Season Play Tonight
The Sheboygan County SaberCats play their regular season finale tonight as they host the Racine Raiders in a Midwest United Football League game at Lakeland University in Sheboygan.
The SaberCats captured a national championship last season in Orlando, Florida, and after getting off to a great start this spring, they’ve faltered a bit. losing two straight, including a 36-26 decision at the hands of the St. Paul Pioneers in Burnsville, Minnesota, last weekend.
Sheboygan’s offense is still lethal, led by talented quarterback Justin Billiot. He’s thrown for 1712 yards and 35 touchdowns, and he’s run for a team-leading 215 yards and three more scores.
Meanwhile, Kaden Summerville has accounted for a team-leading 592 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns while Jalonzo Jackson has 403 receiving yards and a team-leading 11 scores.
The undefeated Raiders have had another great season as they come into tonight’s contest having given up just 22 points in nine games, with 16 coming in one game against the SaberCats back on June 27th in Racine, a 17-to-16 victory for Racine.
The kickoff at Taylor Memorial Field is scheduled for 7 p.m.
