The Two Rivers Parks and Recreation Department are inviting the public to cast a line next month.
The Parks and Rec Department will be hosting Gone Fishing on August 8th from 8:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Shoto Conservation Club at 609 County Road V.
Gone Fishing will be broken up into two age groups, including those ages 3 to 8 and children ages 9 to 14.
During the event, awards will be given out in both age groups for the largest fish by weight for carp, bullhead, catfish, panfish, bass, and a surprise fish category.
Those who pre-register their children for Gone Fishing will also receive free bait, a hot dog, a choice of a water or soda, and one free entry to win a door prize.
The Parks and Rec Department also advises parents that they should bring one fishing pole per child to the event.
Regarding Gone Fishing, the department also added, “Bring the kids out for a fun morning of fishing at the Shoto Conservation Club! Whether they’re experienced anglers or trying fishing for the first time, this free event is a great way to enjoy the outdoors.”
