The Maribel Sportsman’s Club is gearing up for a big 75th anniversary celebration.
The club is inviting everyone out for a competitive clay target event using the Lewis Class system and a meat raffle.
The shoot will run from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., and live music from The Dirty Martini’s will fill the air from 6:00 to 10:00 p.m.
When they were founded in August of 1951, the Maribel Sportsman’s Club held meetings around the Maribel area, including at local taverns.
They purchased the property at 8824 State Highway 147 on October 16th, 1952, and held their first meeting on the property in July of 1953.
The club has continued to grow over the years, completing additions to the main clubhouse in the 90s and an archery/indoor recreation building in 2021.
Today, the Maribel Sportsman’s Club provides a wide variety of activities and events for members and the community, including the annual Cottontail Classic.
