The Patriot Riders of America Wisconsin are preparing to celebrate the 4th annual Dustin J Knapp Memorial Car and Bike Show.
Jenny Matte is with the riders, and this year the car show will be on August 15th at the Branch Recreational Park in Whitelaw.
Registration is from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., and the entry fee is $10 per vehicle.
Any kind of vehicle is welcome, and the show has many categories to choose from.
Matte explained, “We have junkyard dropouts, we’ve got street rods, TV movie car replicas. Four categories for motorcycles: two-wheels, three-wheels; the two-wheel is dressers, cruisers, and old school choppers.”
This event is sure to be lots of fun, with raffle baskets, free face paint, an ice cream truck, live music from High Tower Entertainment, and food and beverages served by the Branch Station.
Participant voting closes at 12:30 p.m., and the trophy presentation will be at 3:15 p.m.
Along with the regular trophies for each category, there will also be special trophy categories, such as kids’ choice, people’s choice, secretaries’ choice, and best story.
Finally, the grand trophy will be presented by last year’s winners.
“So, kind of carry on the tradition; it’s kind of nice that they get to present the next winner,” Matte told us.
All proceeds will be going to Desert Veterans of Wisconsin Green Bay, and Jenny says that this is what Dustin would have wanted.
This whole event is in memory of Dustin and his special car, Dusty’s Dream.
“That’s why he purchased the car; it was as a father-son project,” Matte said. “He purchased it, and he was killed 6 days later. So, dad set out with a high school buddy, and it took 3 years and 8 months to restore. So, he never got to see it done, except for when he’s looking down.”
The Patriot Riders are excited to have people come and show off their cars in memory of Dustin.
