Students and transfer students going to UW-Green Bay will get the option for the state’s first reduced-credit bachelor’s degree.
UWGB says this fall, students interested in a bachelor’s degree in computer science have the option to finish their undergraduate degree in less than four years.
Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs Kate Burns says the option for students “provides a streamlined path to workforce readiness, offering entry into the workforce within a shorter amount of time.”
Students can take a full 120-credit computer science program, or the 100-credit reduced credit route.
UWGB staff add that the reduced-credit computer science option is particularly attractive to individuals who already hold an associate’s degree and are employed in the region, as it provides a faster pathway to degree completion.
There is also a high demand for technology-related careers throughout the region.
