One person is dead after a shooting in Fond du Lac.
The Fond du Lac Police Department explains that, yesterday (July 23rd), they were called just after 4:30 a.m. on a report that someone had been shot in the 800 block of South Main Street.
Upon arrival, authorities located a 22-year-old Fond du Lac man who had been shot.
Despite lifesaving measures, the 22-year-old was declared dead at the scene. During their investigation, police identified a 26-year-old Fond du Lac man as a person of interest in the case.
At approximately 11:30 a.m. yesterday, that individual was located and arrested in connection to the fatal shooting.
At this time, he is being held in the Fond du Lac County Jail on a charge of Second-Degree Intentional Homicide.
Police believe this was an isolated incident, indicating that there is no longer an ongoing threat to the public, while Lieutenant Nick Han added, “We recognize the concern an incident like this creates in our community, and we remain committed to providing updates when appropriate while ensuring this case is thoroughly investigated.”
